Job Description

The PRN Medical Assistant 2 provides essential clinical and administrative support to the office, healthcare providers, and patients in a fast-paced medical setting. While this position will primarily support Front Desk operations, it is also cross-trained in Medical Assistant duties to ensure smooth patient flow and coverage across the office as needed.

This role is ideal for someone flexible and dependable who enjoys both patient interaction and administrative work.

Medical Assistant 2 Essential Functions/Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

Front Desk (Primary Focus)

• Front Desk (Primary Focus)
• Greet and check in patients, verify insurance, and update records
• Answer phones, schedule appointments, and manage provider calendars
• Collect payments and maintain accurate patient and billing information
• Review eligibility, referrals, and authorizations before appointments
• Keep the front office organized and patient-friendly

Clinical Support (As Needed)

• Escort patients to exam rooms and record vitals, history, and medications
• Assist with basic in-office procedures and specimen collection
• Restock exam rooms and maintain clean, organized work areas
• Follow infection control and sterilization protocols

Medical Assistant 2 Required Skills and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program OR 2+ years of experience in a similar clinical role
• Familiar with EMR systems, insurance processes, and HIPAA regulations
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Technologically savvy; proficient in Microsoft 365 products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
