Welder Position

Location: Aurora, IL 60502

Payrate: $21-23 depending on experience.

Hours: 1st shift, Monday thru Thursday 7am-5:30pm

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Applies welding knowledge and skills to fabricate products.
• Completes work orders based on production goals.
• Utilizes analytical skills to determine the most efficient and effective tools and methods to apply to work.
• Takes precise measurements to ensure fit of product components.
• Maintains equipment in good working condition and conducts regular maintenance on equipment.
• Reports any issues, malfunctions, or defects related to parts, machinery, and work orders.
• Reads engineering drawings.
• Adheres to quality standards as set forth by operations.
• Performs quality analysis of completed work and escalates concerns to supervisor.
• Communicates with colleagues appropriately to ensure standard operating procedures are being appropriately followed.
• Follows safety standards as set forth by operating procedures.
• Interacts with heavy machinery on an as-needed basis.
• Wears mandatory safety gear. This includes a welding mask, welding gloves, a welding jacket, safety glasses when not welding, and a safety vest when not welding.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent certificate preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend written and verbal instructions and follow established procedures.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Understand basic math including fractions, percentages, addition, subtraction, etc.
• Ability to use technology on a basic level.
• Possesses a team-player attitude.
• Ability to think critically and problem solve.
• Learns quickly to absorb new information, adapt to change, and apply new skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Welding education (certificate or course).
• Professional welding experience (MIG).
• Forklift driving experience.
• MRP experience.

Work Environment:

• Warehouse plant working conditions including loud machinery and equipment.
• Plant presence requires attention to surroundings to uphold safety guidelines and standards.
• Typical working and operating hours of plant are Monday through Thursday 7am-5:30pm.
• Dress requirements include long pants that cover legs in entirety, long hair to be pulled and tied back. Preferred dress includes steel-toed shoes and long sleeved shirts. Short-sleeved shirts will be permitted when weather drives extreme-hot temperatures in the plant.
